Welcome to Our Website "ROCK VIEW ALPACAS"
Rock View was the name Maureen's Grandfather gave the property when he purchased it in 1901. Maureen grew up on this dairy and beef cattle farm at Brunswick Junction, Western Australia and has been involved in farming all her life, but alpacas were a new but enjoyable venture and together with husband John, they now run Murray Grey cattle and Huacaya Alpacas.
Rock View Alpacas was established in 1998 when Maureen and John Foss purchased their first two wether alpacas. It didn't take long to decide they wanted to breed these strange, inquisitive, cuddly and cute animals, so they purchased two pregnant females.
Their females have been mated to champion males from other studs to improve the genetics each generation. This move has proved successful and in 2008 Rock View Patrick won Junior Champion Male at the Perth Royal Show. Patrick's sister won Reserve Champion Adult Female at Albany Show in 2008 and other alpacas have won many first, second and third placings over the years at various alpaca shows.
The herd colour is predominantly white with some light to dark fawn. They now have over 30 alpacas in their herd.
Rock View Alpaca stud offers after sales service.
They will pick up and drop off alpacas at shearing time and also vaccinate and trim toe nails. They offer free delivery on purchase and animal husbandry advice throughout the year.
